The agency for Waste, Water, Energy and Air of Zurich has granted Bluetector the authorization to discharge the treated water from its BlueBox Ultra. The BlueBox Ultra is cleaning the wastewater from rental toilet cabins at the client's site in Zurich.

The BlueBox Ultra has been designed for the purification of wastewater which usually cannot be discharged directly into the canalization and instead has be transported by truck to a wastewater treatment plant. The BlueBox Ultra can clean difficult wastewaters such as the ones from rental toilet cabins in their concentrated form, without requiring any dillution - something that previously has not been possible.

By cleaning the wastewater in the BlueBox Ultra, the operators of rental toilet cabins save a lot of time and money as they no longer need to truck the wastewater to a treatment plant.

The BlueBox Ultra at the client's site in Zurich can clean up to 12 cubic meters of wastewater per day and has been operational since July. The results of the treatment have convinced the agency for Waste, Water, Energy and Air of Zurich to allow Bluetector to discharge the treated water directly into the canalization.

«The discharge permit from the Canton of Zurich for our BlueBox Ultra is a crucial milestone for our company», says founder and chief executive of Bluetector, David Din. «Our client is operational in 33 countries in Europe, the US and Southeast Asia, and he is willing to roll out the BlueBox on many of his sites.» Bluetector is currently busy with constructing additional BlueBoxes for the same client and expects to deliver to him two more BlueBoxes this year.
