More start-ups than ever at the Swiss Venture Day

The number of ambitious start-ups is increasing in Switzerland. Therefore eight instead of five or six companies presented to investors at the Swiss Venture Day last Wednesday. The quality was as high as it has ever been.

It was a hard day for the 40+ investors and business angels: They saw presentations of eight very different companies plus a one minute elevator pitch. Quite a lot of the participants also attended the Angel Day Workshop in the morning and spent the whole day at the SWX Exchange in Zurich.
 
The participants agreed that the high number didn’t affect the quality of the presenting companies. It is likely that CTI Invest will proceed with higher numbers of presenting companies at the Swiss Venture Day because the start-up pipeline remains very strong.
 
The presenting companies of the last Swiss Venture Day in alphabetical order:
Ability has developed a technology that enables a clinic to train patients with serious walking limitations in highly physiological walking movements with reasonable costs and effort.
Elmove develops and produces powerful and perfect to control power trains for the electric propulsion of two and three wheel vehicles.
Leman Micro Devices is a start-up based in the Lac Leman area of Switzerland, focused on creating exciting new technology in the healthcare sector for future Smartphones.
Newscron aims to become the Europe’s leading news aggregator.
Numab is a Swiss biotech company that innovates and develops antibody-based therapeutics.
Qvanteq is developing novel stent technologies to address and overcome these clinical shortcomings.
Sanovation is developing an online chronic pain diary called CatchMyPain which allows the detailed description of pain problems
Visionarity has developed Kelvin, the first awareness program that combines technology and social strategies to engage employees on the habit of switching off devices when they are not in use.
In addition there was an elevator pitch by DSwiss. The company has developed SecureSafe, a highly secure online storage for private persons, companies and teams.
