Lish, a Swiss-based non-profit network created for female entrepreneurs and innovators developing innovative projects in Tech, Health, Media, and other relevant industries, has been launched. The organisation offers a platform support and increase visibility of female entrepreneurs through events, competitions and workshops. During the upcoming launch event, five female founders will pitch their ideas before the audience. Registration for pitching is now open.

The area of women-founded startups is growing, but when compared to the number of ventures founded by men, the figure is considerably less. Women are still at a disadvantage in these often male-dominated industries, making it is difficult for them to find investors and vice versa.

Based in Lausanne, Lish has been established to help female entrepreneurs to gain the visibility they need to grow their ventures. Lish has therefore built a platform to assist growing community of women innovators. From Pitch Summits to networking events and investment opportunities, the organisation provides female entrepreneurs from Switzerland and beyond, with a platform to connect and learn more from each other as they grow their businesses.

Through Lish, female founders will have the opportunity to participate in different events and training programs. Three main activities will be organised by Lish: the events, workshops and competitions. At the events, participants will become part of the women-founded startup community and share experiences with the members in person. In addition, female founders will have the chance to pitch their venture and meet with successful women entrepreneurs. The goal is to encourage women entrepreneurs to be brave, to help them turn ideas into startups, and to achieve their venture's goals.

Also, regular workshops will be provided. Female entrepreneurs will receive inputs from experts in the industry to allow them to get on the right track in the world of business. The scheduled workshops will address various issues including human resources, intellectual property protection for startups , pitching to investors, public speaking, self-branding and management, finance and  investment among others. The workshops will be held every 3 months both in Lausanne and internationally.

The third offer from Lish is the Start Up Pitch Summit Competition. The Lish team will organise the competition once a year to give female entrepreneurs the opportunity to present their idea to investors. The winners will rceive prizes in the form of investment deals, monetary funding, and industry mentoring. The first competition will take place at the launch event.

"We understand that even with all the help in the world, female entrepreneurs in innovation, tech, and medicine are ultimately entering into male-dominated industries and so we hope to prepare our community for this too. We have created the Lish International Startup Summit to encourage and help establish our startups in a way that will give them recognition beyond the female startup community", as stated on their Lish website.
