Swiss Startup Factory strengthens Advisory Board

The Swiss Startup Factory has welcomed Dietmar Grichnik a Professor at the University of St. Gallen and the Institute of Technology Management to ramp up their collaboration with the University. Grichnik brings first-hand experience from the Academia and startup fields.

The Advisory Board of the Swiss Startup Factory (SSUF) actively supports the accelerator with strategic issues and opens doors to key stakeholders. The current Advisory Board of the Swiss Startup Factory consists of Rico Baldegger, Robert Bider, Jean-Claude Biver, Claudia Coninx-Kaczynski, Beat Curti, Peter Friedli, Andreas Gall, Daniel Gutenberg, Michael Hartweg, Claudia Sauter, Stan Wawrinka and Urs Wietlisbach.

Yesterday, the SSUF announced that Dietmar Grichnik (Foto) – a Professor of Entrepreneurship and Director of the Institute of Technology Management at the University of St.Gallen (HSG) – has joined its Advisory Board.

Grichnik is the Founder and Co-Director of the Global Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. In addition, he was elected as Dean of the School of Management and Board Member of the Institute of Media and Communications Management and the Institute of Business Education and Educational Management at HSG. Before joining HSG, Grichnik served on the faculties of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and Witten/Herdecke University in Germany. Moreover, he was professor at Harvard Business School, USA, and lecturer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH).

As an advisor Professor Grichnik has worked with start-ups and corporates in entrepreneurial decision-making and finance. He is co-founder and business angel of new ventures. He supports students and scientists on campus with Startup@HSG, the HSG Founder Lab, the HSG Founder Garage, and the HSG Spin-off label. He teaches entrepreneurship courses on the Bachelor, Master, PhD, MBA and EMBA level. The focus of his work is on entrepreneurship and finance. He is responsible for the scientific lead of research projects on behalf of The Swiss National Science Foundation. He has published seven books and more than 200 scientific articles. In 2015 he was ranked among the TOP-100 leading professors in entrepreneurship worldwide nominated by today`s tech entrepreneurs. He frequently gives talks to companies and presents invited keynote addresses at conferences.
