Angle Audio shuts down its social audio app for consumers. From now on the startup will offer social audio as a service for companies.

In spring 2021 everybody spoke about social audio – a hype which was originally created by Clubhouse. The Swiss alternative Angle Audio was officially launched in March. In total, well over 10,000 users have hosted thousands of conversations, sharing knowledge and stories with each other on Angle Audio. However, in a blog post on Medium the start-up has declared that the consumer service will be discontinued tomorrow, Wednesday at midnight. “Closing the app allows us to channel all our efforts towards the audio software development kit”, comments the team in the post.

The software development kit (SDK) had been built over the last weeks after companies approached Angel Audio that wanted to add that social audio experience to their apps or websites. The SDK allows companies now to easily add the Angle Audio conversation experience to their platform (web and mobile). Businesses can go live with audio rooms in a few days and engage with their community on a profoundly personal level adding a new dimension to how they interact with their audience.
