High costs and complexities associated with deploying payloads into space represent a significant issue for companies relying on space-acquired data and infrastructure for their services. DPhi Space, co-founded by Aziz Belkhiria (CEO), Michael Linder (CTO), Julian Harris (COO), Saverio Nasturzio and Joaquim Silveira (software developers), addresses this challenge by leveraging off-the-shelf small satellites, enhancing their capabilities to provide a shared platform for hosted payloads.
Their proprietary Clustergate™ is a container that demonstrates the ridesharing capabilities for CubeSat-sized payloads shipped into the orbit. The advantages of Clustergate™ include lower cost per payload, shorter time to orbit, a pay-per-use model, which enables lower cost launches compared to dedicated missions. DPhi's vision is to project Earth's technological achievements into space, thus democratizing access to orbit and transforming it into a direct extension of our planet.
DPhi will invest the CHF 150’000 to fly their first hosted payload and demonstrate commercial ridesharing for hosted payloads. The financial boost from Venture Kick will also help the startup enter the USD 9.5B small-satellite market and related services to address the needs of the rising constellations, with more than 4000 serviceable payloads to be launched by 2030.
“Venture Kick is a must-do experience for every early-stage start-up. Progressing from one stage to the next one, “kicked” the team to deliver on all aspects of the business and launched us into space,” stated Aziz Belkhiria.
