In key US launch milestone, GetSet announces the successful completion of its first two surgeries. The Swiss medtech led by Ole Stoklund aims to improve patient outcomes, reduce risk and create value in surgical procedures by providing sterile solutions that facilitate simple pre-operative planning, on demand surgery and efficiency in the operating room without compromise.

After recently launching in the US, GetSet Surgical is already up to speed. Dr Steve DeLuca and Dr John Kelleher at Penn State Health’s Spartan Medical have performed the first surgeries thanks to its Good to Go! Solutions for spinal stabilization and fusion. The operations are part of the limited launch initiated in the second quarter of 2022 in the US Market.

As Chris Fell, GetSet COO explains to Startupticker.ch, the Swiss medtech is currently working within the limited launch period and focusing on a single distributor in the US. However, the team has plans to execute a full US launch in 2023 and work with a much wider network of distribution partners.

Speaking of the future, the spinal surgery startup has also a CE mark and remains committed to advancing patient care in the EU and Middle East as well as the US. Next steps include expansion and penetration of target markets, further product developments in other key anatomical areas so it can treat a wider range of pathologies and help more patients. Fundraising is likely to be something the team will consider when the time is right, says the COO.

Based at Biopôle Lausanne, GetSet Surgical was created in 2016 and employs 5 full time staff in its offices. The startup supported by Innosuisse and Innovaud imagines a future where unnecessary surgical risk has been eliminated, where surgery is more efficient through straightforward yet innovative thinking, and where ‘on demand’ surgery is the norm.
