Tobias Vančura appointed Chairman of the Board of Imina Technologies

Tobias Vančura has co-founded the nanotechnology company Nanonis. He served several years as CEO and eventually sold Nanonis in 2009. Vančura is now joining the board of Imina, a start-up from Lausanne that has developed the versatile nanomanipulator miBot.

The Annual General Shareholders’ Meeting of Imina Technologies SA appointed Tobias Vančura as Chairman of the Board as of March 11, 2013. Tobias brings an extensive experience in managing the development of a high-technology venture that he gained with Nanonis GmbH, the Zürich based nanotechnology company he co-founded and ran for nearly six years. In 2009, Nanonis was acquired by the German SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH which he served as board member and operationally Head of Sales, Service & Order Processing until 2011. This is an excellent opportunity for Imina Technologies to benefit from his strong expertise and excellent understanding of the requirements for us to succeed in the global scientific instruments market", said Benoît Dagon, co-founder and CEO of Imina Technologies.

Imina Technologies is a privately held company founded in 2009 to exploit more than ten years of research in high precision robotics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland (EPFL).

Imina sells turnkey solutions for various applications where precise positioning and manipulation is needed. It can be anything from the manipulation of nanoparticles and biological cells to the testing of semiconductors and MEMS. All solutions include the miBot — the most versatile nanomanipulator on the market — but many different options are available
