Fontself focuses on mobile devices

Fontself SA is a technology start-up and software company based in Lausanne. It was founded in 2008 by a team of passionate designers and computer geeks with a shared passion for typography, hand-drawn illustrations and user-friendly software. The company proposes a revolutionary approach to text-based communication, in order to provide more creative and personal hand-made fonts. Fontself is backed by Index Ventures.
 
With the new Fontself App users can send creative messages using colourful handmade fonts to social networks and messaging apps like Facebook, Twitter, Kik & more who are on their way, but also as email, iMessage & MMS right from their iPhone and iPod Touch. The App can be downloaded for free at the AppStore.
 
In addition Fontself announced that over the past months, the company unfortunately had to shut down some of its web applications due to constrained resources and distribution challenges for its Yahoo! Mail and Facebook apps. Therefore, the team decided to focus its energies to mobile devices. Fontself Apps for Android and Windows Phone are already in development.
