The Swiss handmade inflatable paddle board commenced its Kickstarter campaign prosperously. The light, fast and robust paddleboard is an initiation of Neal Carter-James and Neil Parmenter. Due to its innovativeness the campaign has raised over 60’000 Swiss Francs through Crowdfunding in less than 48 hours.

In his search for a new challenge, Neal Carter-James, a serial entrepreneur with a passion for branding and a background in Hotels, travel and consultancy, teamed up with Neil Parmenter, founder of Aaretubing and Swiss resident for more than 10 years and expert in water sports, to define key factors for an outstanding inflated paddle board. Their observations showed that weight, performance and style are some of the aspects they will apply to develop the paddle board. With these factors they established Origin Paddleboards in 2014.

With a sole purpose of making the best inflatable paddle boards in the world, the company also understood that to make a difference they would have to manufacture a market leading product whilst redefining inflatable paddle board expectations. Reverting to a classic, natural design, their products are unique in an ever growing market segment. Coupled with their use of innovative and high tech components and materials and European production their products are setting a new industry standard. By bringing production back to Europe, they have been able to re-define the quality benchmark for precision manufacturing.

Product description
The Paddleboard is hand crafted in Switzerland with an average weight of 7kg compared to the standard weight of 11-20kg. The product is made out of European REACH certified dropstitch, rollable natural cork deck-pad, premium accessories, British made waxed canvas carry bag. It designed using advanced technology - Gel Coat Second Skin, Adaptive Rocker, Airtight Membrane and Cork Tech. All Origin Paddleboards have a uniquely accentuated rail shape. This allows for greater lateral roll which, in turn, allows greater board control and increased speed.

Shortest successful Kickstarter campaign
In order to finance this project the two founders launched their new 2016 Made in Switzerland product range on Kickstarter and have exceeded all expectations by becoming the fastest funded inflatable paddle board project of all time, funding in 48hrs. The campaign has achieved its funding goal with over 60’000 Swiss Francs, yet left with 23 more days to conclude the campaign.
