SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics is organizing one of Europe’s most important conferences in data-driven life science: the [BC]2 Basel Computational Biology Conference. It will take place from 11-13 September 2023 in Basel. This year’s theme is “Big data in biology – promises and challenges”.

The conference will bring together around 500 participants, including representatives from pharma/biotech companies and academia. This year brings a special session on industry-academia collaborations. Industry-academia collaborations are an important driver for innovation, scientific excellence and technology transfers. However, significant challenges arise when industry and academia collaborate due to resource constraints, legal and administrative complexity, and coordination challenges. The [BC]2 Scientific Committee invites companies of all sizes and researchers to present their joint projects and interdisciplinary collaborations. Submissions will close on 14 April 2023.

Start-ups will benefit from special price offers to register for the conference.

The program features keynote presentations, thematic tracks highlighting the latest findings around artificial intelligence, precision medicine, protein in 3D, single-cell approaches, immune processes and ecology and evolution, and a special session showcasing successful collaborations between academia and industry. Hands-on tutorials and workshops, poster sessions, social and networking activities will further allow for peers to connect in a friendly atmosphere.
